“basic beginner book”
Good basic beginner canary book. Part about the cost of owning a canary is particularly useful for first time canary owner. As a canary enthusiast I would challenge the minimum cage width requirements listed in the book. 18 inches wide is not enough for a canary to fly and only to hop from perch to perch. 24 inches wide would be a bare minimum and preferably much more (like with a flight cage).

Nicely written, simplified but extensive information on what canaries are and how to best care for them. Fascinating birds indeed. As I already own parrots, I had thought about getting canaries for the singing abilities, and this book is helping in the decision-making process.
