An occasional bath for your Burmese Python can go a long way to having a happy and healthy snake. You don’t need to scrub them or use any bathing materials like soaps or shampoo. Never use such items as it can be poisonous for your pet. Plain lukewarm water is fine.

  • Bathing can help relieve constipation
  • It can also kill mites
  • Promotes proper shedding

Step – by – Step Bathing for Your Snake

Step #1: Use warm spring or filtered water.  Don’t use tap or chlorinated water as the chemicals in the water can actually irritate their skin.  A good range between 100 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit is a good level for a snake bath. And because they are sensitive to temperature changes, you’ll want to provide them with a reasonably warm bath.

Step #2: You can help your snake get into the bath, but more often than not, they will quickly bathe themselves. Just assist them but let them roam around on their own, they know what to do.

Step #3: Keep an eye on your pet during bathing. Never left your Burmese python unsupervised. You don’t want your pet getting away from you during bathing time; you might want to place a sufficiently roomy bowl of the warm bath water in an enclosure.

Step #4: Just let your Burmese Python swim freely around in the water. If it shows signs of agitation, take it out immediately. Otherwise, let it soak around for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step #5: After bathing time, pick it up, and gently use a towel to dry it off. It’s now to time return to his now clean, sterilized, disinfected, and thoroughly dried habitat or temporary cage (whichever you decided to clean first).
