Hiring a professional groomer is an easy way to take for your shih tzu dog. You can set up an appointment every six to eight weeks.

You will be left with little grooming tasks such as brushing and combing every now and then. Further, you might need to clip down the nails, brush the teeth, or something along the line.

These are some of the things your groomers do for your dog:

  • Bath
  • Removing mat
  • Check anal glands
  • Spritz cologne
  • Clean ears
  • Cut dog’s hair
  • Clip nails

However, you also need to consider these things if you still want to pursue hiring a groomer. First, you need to set a budget for the additional cost. Next, you need to have enough time to go, wait, and return to your home after every appointment. Finally, dogs don’t typically like long car rides, you need to train your dogs for this circumstance.

If you plan to do it by yourself, it has advantages which you will really like. First, it only costs a little after you have purchased the materials. Plus, it gives you a chance to bond with your fur buddy. Also, it gives you the control on what you the outcome for your dog and the time you spend for it.

Some Disadvantages

However, there are also disadvantages when you do-it-by-yourself. First, you need to be trained to cut your dog’s hair correctly; next, you need to buy the supplies before cutting its hair. Finally, you need to establish a routine for your pup.

This path is recommended for those who don’t have much time in doing it your own. Or, to those who does not to try cutting the dog’s hair.

It might be scary at first but it is a bonding session, in which if you have developed the necessary skill – you might even set up a little grooming station around your area.
