  • 10 ounces of chicken gizzards
  • 3 ounces of chicken liver

How to Cook

Step #1:

The first thing you need to do is to cook your rice. You need to cook about 12 ounces of rice or 1 ½ cup in your pot with 3 cups of water. It takes about 20 minutes to cook the rice, so while you do that you can already start preparing the other ingredients. Once your water gets to a boil, you can start adding your rice and just give it a quick stir. Simmer it for about 20 minutes and make sure to put a lid.

Step #2:

The next step is to chop up 4 oz. of spinach. You can use your scale to measure it along with your other food ingredients so that the serving is right. You can use your chopper or food processor as well.

Step #3:

The next thing you need to chop is your carrots. Before moving on though, it’s important to note that your veggies are thoroughly cleaned or you can already purchase them clean if you get them from packages in the groceries. Get another four ounces of carrots and measure it in your scale.

Step #6:

Get 1 piece of green or red apple, you can switch it every now and then. The key thing is that you don’t feed your dog any of the seeds because it could be dangerous to them. Make sure you don’t get any of the seeds in the food. Slice it up and use the chopper.

Step #7:

Once you’ve done the chopping in your veggies, and your rice is ready to go, it’s time to mix it all up in one bowl. If you don’t know how to cook rice, you can follow the instructions on the package of the rice. It’s usually a 2: 1 ratio. If you want 1 cup of rice, it would need 2 cups of water. Simmer it on low for 20 minutes until the water comes to a boil. Cool it a bit before you mix in the veggies.

Step #8:

While you’re waiting for the rice to cool a bit, you can start preparing your chicken meat. You need four different chicken parts for this one. You need to prepare 18 ounces of boneless skinless chicken thighs, 10 ounces of chicken gizzards, 3 ounces of chicken liver and 10 ounces of chicken thighs with skin. Make sure to need to dice it all up, measure it using your scale and mix it together before cooking. You can also use shears to easily dice the meat in bite – size pieces.

Step #9:

The next step is to put all the meat into the pan over medium high heat. Cook it all together until you brown the meat, or cook it until its pink before adding the rice and veggies you’ve prepared earlier.

Step #10:

While your meat is cooking, you can cut it up using your shears to make sure that the meat are in bite – size pieces. After which, you can start adding your chopped veggies and fruits especially when the meat starts to be pink. Sauté it all in until the veggies are soft.

Step #11:

The last step is to blend everything together, at this point you can start adding your supplements, fish oil or whatever ingredient your vet recommends. Once everything is cooked, you can start mixing the meat and veggies with your cooked rice. Mix it well and let it cool for a bit before you serve it to your dog.

Step #12:

You can store the rest of the food in glass containers, and put them in the fridge. Depending on how huge the batch you made, you can stock it up for a few days. You can warm it up a bit in the microwave before serving it to your dog.
