It is helpful to not have any sharp edges as they can injure themselves; and while they are young, supervise them when they roam around your house.

Feeding

The best choice of food for mini pigs is high-quality pellets; which are significantly made for aiding mini pig’s dietary needs. Pellets are your best choice. Lean towards what your veterinarian suggests, as they know the best in aiding mini pigs nutrition.

You are also encouraged to stick to a feeding schedule, to establish familiarity; discipline and to avoid overeating, as mini pigs are at risk for unhealthy obesity. Aside from the pellets, vegetables are your best friends for giving them snacks. Mini pigs like to feast on kale, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, carrots, as well as nuts and seeds. These healthy snacks aids nutrition; and works well as treats too, that will come in handy if you are training them.

Also, supply them plenty of water every day; mini pigs do not sweat, contrary to other animals that is why it is even more important for them to be hydrated. Put several drinking stations in your house, and replace them with fresh water to avoid contamination of bacterias.

Hygiene

Mini pigs do not need to be washed daily; about once per week is enough to keep them hygienic and healthy. In doing their bathing, use shampoo or soap that is made especially for pigs, as they can react negatively to our own product of shampoo and soap. Since mini pigs are small, bathing them in a small basin will be effective. They love lukewarm water as it gives them comfort, and after finishing bathing them,  you can apply a gentle lotion or baby oil to keep their skin shiny and bouncy.

Bedtime Routine

When the moons are out and about, it is time for your mini pig to get its sleep fix. Mini pigs love to get all warm, cozy, and snuggled. To aid, you can put together a sleeping spot that is soft, with lots of small blankets and pillows.
